EVENT DETAILS

The NASPL Professional Development Seminar is a unique event, designed to bring together lottery industry employees at all levels in a small-group, firsthand format. This arrangement allows for candid discussions and information sharing among participants and provides attendees with tangible ideas about how to take advantage of the industry’s biggest opportunities and find solutions to its greatest challenges.

This year the theme is “Mile High Expectations,” which I think is pretty appropriate for where we are as an industry. And also, well, you’re in Denver, which is 5,280 feet above sea level.

Sessions and topics include problem gambling, GAB update, Cybersecurity & AI + more! Find out all event details here.

Meet with our team of Lottery and IT Security experts, Pat Costaregni, Gus Fritschie, and Scott Melnick. Don't miss your chance to hear from Gus during his session: Modern Cyber Defense Requires a United Strategy and Team Approach.

BULLETPROOF SESSION

A New Truth: Modern Cyber Defense Requires a United Strategy and Team Approach

Speaker: Gus Fritschie, Senior Vice President, Information Security Services, Bulletproof, a GLI Company

Looking back ten years ago, most IT assets were on premise, and the security perimeter was more defined. Now, with the explosion of remote work, cloud technologies and distributed systems, the boundary is much larger. Additionally, post-COVID it has been more difficult to attract and retain IT staff. The old idea of procuring “best of breed” tools and defenses are no longer working. In this presentation we will discuss the modern, unified approach to security by selecting the best platform for a unified approach to reduce overlap, complexity, and cost.

We will also explore how Microsoft has quietly become the world’s largest IT security company and how it is critical to manage and secure these four components:

  • Identity
  • Devices and endpoints
  • Apps and data
  • Infrastructure
