Position Summary:

The MS AZURE Cloud Expert is part of the Managed Services team and responsible for managing, consulting, and providing best practices for Microsoft Azure Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to support the technical architecture of the MS Azure Platform including services such as:

    • Platform as a Service

    • Database as a Service

    • Application Service Management

    • Azure Firewall

    • Platform Performance and Security

  • SQL Management Capabilities including Maintenance Plans, Database Migrations, Database Service Setup, Backup and Recovery.

  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 year's experience in a related position.

  • Management Services such as Azure Lighthouse, Update Management, Security Center and other management capabilities.

  • Azure Storage, Load balancing, Firewall, Active Directory and Security.

  • Responsible to work with Project managers to plan and perform large scale upgrades and migrations and provide troubleshooting and post deployment support as needed.

  • Responsible to prepare technical design documentation and provide knowledge transfer to the operational support team and clients.

  • Solid core understanding of general server and network fundamentals including IP addressing, routing, DNS, DHCP, etc regardless of area of specialty.

  • Maintain records, logs, and reports of troubleshooting requests.

  • Takes leadership of specific management of 3rd part application(s) and system(s) areas, as it relates to support engagements.

  • Performs technical research and development to enable innovation within the client’s IT infrastructure.

  • Monitor and review IT system logs, server security and special services on servers; identifies errors and make modifications to monitoring performance metrics to enable proactive maintenance.

  • Responsible for upholding network security measures set by client/Bulletproof policies and continuous improvement of services delivered to our clients.

  • This position will require after business hours on-call rotation for support and some client onboarding projects.

Required Education and Other Credentials: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or a college certificate or diploma in information technology and/or have relevant experience and industry certification.

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Technology stack, Microsoft cloud technologies and network typologies. Technical and product knowledge in one or more specialties are required:

    • Microsoft certification AZ500

    • Virtualization solutions (VMWare)

    • Storage Solutions such as Dell EMC & Compellent

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes including incident management, change management and CMDB is an asset.

  • Certifications in Kaseya, Microsoft Cloud Services or Fortinet would be an asset.

  • Valid Driver’s License - Must have the ability to travel to client sites (25 - 30 %)

Soft Skills: 

  • Previous experience in Microsoft Azure Management, Monitoring and Deployment.

  • Strong organizational skills necessary to handle multiple tasks and work independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with exceptional telephone manners and a strong customer service orientation is required.

  • Teamwork and collaboration skills required to support and act as technical liaison to the sales team and prospective clients.

  • Ability to adapt from business to technical communication according to the audience. 

  • Responsible to enter time on a weekly basis which will be used to generate monthly reports to clients on workload, and status on open projects and issues.

  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.

  • Provides weekly reports to the supervisor or project managers regarding workload, open projects, and issues.
