About the role

We are seeking a talented Human Resources Business Partner who will build relationships with the team and provide direct, full-cycle HR support throughout our Bulletproof division within Canada and a small team in the US. This position works directly with Bulletproof management and our parent Company, Gaming Laboratories International ‘s (GLI) global HR/Legal team.  


This role will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Employee Relations:
• Pro-actively works with management on employee relations matters including, but not limited to, disciplinary action, demotions, restructuring, lay-offs and terminations
• Acts as the liaison between global HR/Legal and Bulletproof on employee relations that involve negative employment actions (i.e., warnings, demotions, terminations, etc.); makes recommendations based on documentation and observations
• Provides leadership throughout the organization in the implementation and maintenance of highly effective employee engagement strategies; measures effectiveness of these initiatives by working with the global HR team on the rollout and follow up of employee engagement surveys
• Updates/creates HR policies in conjunction with global HR/Legal to ensure that we are in compliance with federal and provincial law
• Works with management to ensure we communicate with employees in a timely and appropriate manner the Company, initiatives, etc.

Talent Acquisition:
• Uses innovative sourcing techniques to find high quality candidates for internal and external candidates to fill job vacancies for administrative, technical and managerial positions within Canada and the US
• Conducts HR interviews and coordinates interviews with hiring managers
• Hires and on-boards new employees

Talent Management:
• Provides direction/guidance to the management team with regard to providing feedback, administering rewards/recognition programs, promotions, etc
• Oversees and administers the annual performance review process

Compensation and Benefits:
• Administers benefit programs
• Acts as point of contact and responds to all employee inquiries/issues regarding benefits coverage
• Creates and maintains job descriptions for all BP positions
• Researches and recommends salary ranges for positions
• Assists management with the salary review and bonus process
• Ensures that extended leaves of absence are handled in accordance with BP policy, local and federal laws

Training and Administrative:
• Delivers and/or coordinates employee training regarding HR policies, procedures and programs
• Acts as systems administrator for our HRIS, ATS, LMS and PMS systems
• Ensures all Bulletproof employee documents/records are uploaded into our electronic personnel files
• All other duties as assigned


Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related discipline required
• Human Resources certification (CPHR) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist with experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits and training
• Prior experience starting an HR Department or working as a sole HR practitioner is preferred, as well as, experience with an international company
• Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook Excel and Power Point skills
• Prior experience working with HRIS, HRMS, ATS and LMS is required; experience working with ADP (HRB, Time & Attendance and/or Workforce Now 7) and Cornerstone is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to deliver presentations to employees and Management
• Excellent organization skills including the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
• Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, correctness and deadlines
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation

Travel Expectations:

• Local, domestic and international travel may be required for this position up to 10% of the time
• Must hold a valid passport and Drivers’ License
