In a very short period of time, Trevali had grown from small-scale to an enterprise-scale company. Trevali’s existing IT infrastructure combined with rapid corporate growth presented them with a number of business challenges:
Challenge #1: Immature IT Environment
Mining technology has evolved substantially in the last decade enabling new efficiencies for the industry. But Trevali’s rapid growth from small-scale to enterprise resulted in an IT environment without the appropriate scale and adaptability to meet their modern business needs. Business transformation and continuing growth would not happen without key enablement from IT.
Challenge #2: Security Controls
Cyberthreats, specifically spear-phishing, had grown into a significant risk issue with very targeted attacks taking place. A significant security breach would likely have a widescale impact on the business. As a publicly traded company, proactive due-diligence to protect Trevali was critical. With an IT infrastructure that lacked modern security technology and controls, Trevali faced gaps that left them vulnerable.
Challenge #3: Resiliency
Trevali’s current infrastructure was experiencing issues with downtime and long recovery times due to immature solutions and little to no resiliency in place. These challenges impacted the efficiency of day-to-day operations, costing Trevali time and money. In a competitive global industry, this put them at a disadvantage.
Challenge #4: Resources
Trevali recognized the need to modernize and stabilize their IT infrastructure, but like many large and growing organizations, the capacity of their internal IT team to manage the transformation, and the specialized cybersecurity expertise to implement and monitor enterprise level security were both challenges. In addition, the cost of purchasing the advanced technology and security tools required presented a budget challenge. Trevali needed a solution that overcame those barriers.
Bulletproof introduced Trevali to an innovative new managed service product designed specifically for the needs of enterprise-level organizations with mobile workforces, volumes of connected users and devices, and hybrid combinations of on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
